Terms of service
Last updated 2 September 2026
What the service is
A11y Punch List scans web pages you point it at and lists machine-detectable defects measured against the WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA success criteria, with a suggested code change for each. It is provided by 231 Labs Ltd, Colorado, USA.
What it is not
It is an engineering tool that reports what an automated scanner can detect. Automated detection finds roughly a third of accessibility barriers. The service is not an accessibility audit, not a conformance assessment, and not legal advice; it does not evaluate your obligations under the ADA, Section 508, the EAA, or any other law, and makes no claim about your legal exposure. For those questions, test with people who use assistive technology, and consult a lawyer.
Scanning
Only scan sites you own or are authorised to test. We fetch pages the way a normal browser would, honour robots.txt, and never submit forms or bypass access controls. We may refuse or rate-limit scans.
Free and paid scans
The free scan covers up to 3 pages and shows a summary with two fixes. The full report is a one-off purchase covering up to 25 pages, delivered by email and by a private link, and includes one re-scan of up to 25 pages within 30 days of purchase so you can confirm your fixes landed. Monitoring, where offered, is a monthly subscription you can cancel at any time. Prices are shown at checkout; payment is processed by Stripe, and we never see your card details.
Refunds
If a report did not do what this page says it does, ask through Support. A person reads every request and decides case by case; we would rather refund than argue.
Your report
Reports are yours to use, share, and act on. Keep the link private: anyone holding it can open the report.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as is. We aim for accurate results but cannot promise the scanner finds every defect or that every suggested fix suits your code. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Questions go to Support, where a human reads everything.
